TRIBUTE TO LUIZ FERNANDO SANTOS REIS
On March 4th, the engineering community lost a great representative: engineer Luiz Fernando Santos Reis.
His 60-year career is intertwined with the history of our company. In 1986, Luiz Fernando was invited to join the sales team at Christiani-Nielsen. In 1988, after the merger with Carioca Engenharia, he took over as Sales Director. That was the start of a 24-year collaboration.
Carioca grew up with him. During his time with us, he won important contracts, including the ThyssenKrupp CSA Terminal, the Guanabara Bay LNG Terminal, the Moinho Dias Branco Complex and many others.
Always vibrant and hard-working, he was a restless executive and passionate about his job. He was attentive to industry innovations and believed that an engineer was not just a “construction doer,” but a channel leading to the transformation of the surrounding community.
For 20 years, he chaired the SINICON association and, in the past few years, he served as executive president of AEERJ. In both institutions, he made his mark and helped to strengthen the infrastructure sector, advocating for companies and jobs.
Luiz Fernando will always be part of the Carioca Family and we still feel the pain of his passing. We are grateful for the beautiful years of collaboration and tireless dedication to Brazilian engineering.
